REV MAKING A MONKEY OUT OF DONKEY KONG

Nintendo's original ape set to make a next-gen debut courtesy of the Jungle Beat development team

14:24 It doesn't take a genius to work out that we'll be seeing plenty of Revolution returns for Nintendo's biggest franchise characters when the next-gen system strikes later this year. Now, alongside confirmed new iterations of Mario and Zelda, it looks like we'll be seeing Donkey Kong making another console splash.

According to internet reports, the latest issue of Japanese mag Famitsu has confirmation from Shigeru Miyamoto himself, stating that the infamous monkey/ape thing is primed for unleashing on the Revolution.

It seems that development duties have been handed to the Donkey Kong: Jungle Beat team and that this time around the GameCube's bongo peripherals will be ditched in favour of a new control scheme, designed to make the most of the Revolution's unique features.

Whether this will be another platform/rhythm action title in the vein of Jungle Beat is currently unclear but, with the drumming potentional the Rev controller throws up, it wouldn't be a surprise if that's what we end up with.
More news on the game as and when it rolls out of the jungle - hopefully, we'll know more come E3 this May
In other news, grass is green, water is wet.

    Spoiler

    Virtual Console =! Microtransactions, morons!
(Except, in this case, you're paying for the same old thing, not something new!)

its not that bad and DK hasn't been whored after all shigsy loves him. He's made a few cameo's in marios sports games but thats ok. they are just taking out insurance. its quite a risk what they are doing and releasing Jungle beat 2 would be like a buffer to help lessen the risk.

I don't care whether this turns out good or bad. I don't care whether it's a platformer or a bemani game. I don't even care if they farm development out to RARE. All I know is that it should, nay must, be called 'Donkey Kongolution'.

Well, of course theres going to be a DOnkey Kong game on the revolution. Its blindingly obvious, same as theres going to be a FIFA and GTA on PS3.

I don't get your point at all.

Who's betting you have to flick the wand to make him jump, and besides that- It's a completely ordinary game?

Very true, What a great revolution. Instead of pressing A, you move your hand up.

Learn the difference between first and third party and, perhaps, then you'll get the point. If you actually *wanted* to get the point.
Oh, and read the pretty clear SPOILER text before you reply.

You do *want* to get the point don't you cutmymilk? I mean, you wouldn't be pretending to be really ignorant and not know precisely what everyone appears to know JUST to suggest that there's no point being made. You wouldn't be pretending to be ignorant would you cutmymilk?

    Would you?

i'd like to see the wand used in certain bits like if you jump at a vine swing you can hurl Dk sky high. You know like a david vs goliath stone sling thingy method followed by a flick and he launches.

Please if anyone understands what i just said please try to clarify it. I can see it in my head but i'm struggling to explain it.

but if the game has context stuff like that then it will be a bit different.

Of course, it's accessible for everyone. Instead of holding the button while jumping, height can be determined by hand speed. (I'm not serious)

Couldn't see the point of the article myself. Of course there would be a Donkey Kong on the way, it's one of Nintendo's favourite cash cows. And of course they would be mentioning it like it was a huge surprise. And of course they would not actually mention anything about the game other than the presence of the simian. Typical Nintendo fare, we're all used to it by now.
